The car that lasts 100 years

Designer Loren Kulesus has come up with a concept for a Thorium fuelled Cadillac car that last up to 100 years with out maintenance or gas. Amazingly, Thorium can produce more energy than 28,000 litres of Petrol, just 8 grams of it would be enough to power a vehicle for it's entire life. If this concept does become a major part of future transport, Autralia will be in a great position of power as they have the second highest level of Thorium in the world.

This concept could have a fantastic effect on our future, especially as it is a great way to save energy and resources. I love the futuristic look of it as well.

Humans Of New York

Creator of the popular Facebook and Instagram pages has just released his first 'humans of new york' book. If you haven't already heard of or seen these pages; HONY is basically a page created by photographer Brandon Stanton who travels the streets of New York photographing random people. He then asks them a bit about themselves and posts the most interesting part of their conversation alongside their picture on the Facebook/ Instagram page.

As a fan of the HONY pages, I think this is a great concept, it reminds me that there are so many different kinds of interesting and sometimes even inspiring people out there, HONY always brings a smile to my face. I definitely need to get my hands on a copy of that book; would be something great to keep on the coffee table.

Li-Fi

Scientists in China have created a new lightbulb that emits wifi. These wifi-emitting light bulbs actually work better than the average wifi connection in China and supposedly use up less energy. These 'Li-fi' bulbs have microchips embedded into them which produces a signal. One light bulb can provide wifi for up to 4 computers at once, using light signals instead of radio waves.

Everything is getting smaller

As things get more and more modern they also seem to get smaller and smaller; and living spaces are definitely no exception to this. Homes, especially in the larger cities, are much smaller than they use to be, however they are not as practical as they could be. Tumidei in Italy have come up with a fantastic solution to this growing issue with smaller housing and no where to put anything. Their brilliant designs make great use of small spaces; I can definitely see a lot of housing looking like this in the near future.

Inspiration at its finest

This video really speaks for itself; one of the most inspiring things I have seen for a while. Inspiring everyone to embrace the limitations and imperfections in life.

The latest event must-have

Photobooths have started to become very popular at big events such as weddings and school proms. Modern Romance Weddings have recently started the new trend of the 'slow-mo video', the link below features an actually couple who were getting married and offered to sample this slow-mo wedding video at their wedding and it was a great success; also a fantastic way for Modern Romance Weddings to advertise. I can definitely see this quickly becoming the new must-have at all major events.

Could you be an underwear model?

Jenny Francis and daily tabloid news paper The Sun have teamed up for this campaign. They have hilariously put photos of your average man posing as an underwear model next to the original images. This campaign aims to empower the average person and inspire them to find beauty in the real world and not idolise 'perfect' photoshoped models.

I found this campaign not only entertaining but also thought provoking; I think this is a great message to send out to people and everyone should have this kind of mindset when it comes to beauty.

Charlie and the Cadbury Factory

Cadbury have a great new campaign going feature actual bars of gold. Customers have been unwrapping their Cadbury 'chocolate bars' to find that they have actually bought a bar of gold, very similar to Willy Wonka and his golden tickets. Not only can you unwrap a bar of gold, Cadbury have also hidden other treats and prizes in their chocolate bars such as golden cinema tickets.

This is a great and fun way to get customers excited about Cadbury's chocolate, especially the campaign will bring certain customers a great feeling of nostalgia.

3D printers are going to change everything.

The invention of the 3D printer has recently hit the market, which is going to be life changing for people on the science and medical side of things. However once 3D printers become available to the average person, so much is going to change. I recently stumbled upon some very cool and not so life changing inventions that have been made using a 3D printer.

#VogueInstaFashion

Vogue has taken a completely different approach in their latest photo shoot; completely shot using only the very popular Instagram app. I personal think these images look great, however using such a low quality application such as Instagram kind of defeats the purpose of Vogue, as it is supposed to be very high end with clean crisp photography.

Vogue has definitely brought quite a bit of attention themselves with this photo shoot and has now made their audiences feel as though they can relate to them as a brand because they have chosen to use an application that is available to anyone with an iPhone or iPad.

Im still not sure this was the best direction for Vogue to go in, however they have brought attention to themselves either way.

Awesome Milk Photography

Jaroslav Wieczorkiewicz, a London based Polish photography is the creative genius behind these images. The best part about this photography is that no photoshop was used, they were purely created through a high shutter speed and light trickery.

I also love this images as they are inspired by classic pin-ups from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

I think this photography is great as it is original and unlike anything I have ever seen before; Its great to see a photography bring something interesting and new to the table. Work like this
definitely inspires me to go that extra mile with my creativity.

Where do we draw the line between graffiti and art?

Anonymous british graffiti artist Banksy recently made a trip over to the US continuing his art works throughout the city of New York for the month of October. However as his work is actually illegal as it is graffiti, which is considered vandalism, it is starting to create some controversy as to how or whether it should be preserved. Some of his works around the city have already been painted over by building owners who were unaware of their value. On the other hand a Banksy flower girl piece was removed from a gas station and put up for auction with a starting bid was $300,000.

Everything about Banksy's work is controversial from the messages behind all of his pieces, to the big question; where do we draw the line between graffiti and art?

Something that will actually get you excited about rain

NeverWet is a new product that has recently hit the market. This Miracle product released by Rust-Oleum is a silicon-based liquid-repellent.

Definitely one of the coolest things to have been invented for a very long time, I think this product will have a massive impact and is something that will become a household product. With the demonstration pictures below I can easily see this being a great way for certain companies to advertise, It certainly caught my eye.

When's the last time you saw a submarine?

The streets of Milan were in chaos on the morning of October 1st when a submarine supposedly crashed into a Smart Car. To add to already shocking scene a team of actors made the whole thing come alive, really grabbing the attention of the public.

Here is one of the best pieces of stunt advertisements I have seen in a while and I'm particularly surprised as it is an advertisement for a insurance company. Insurance companies are infamous for their extremely average advertisements; with such a lack of competition, this company is sure to have a massive increase in customers.

Living Statues at Kings Cross Square

The grand opening of the new kings cross square was accompanied by a collection of famous living statues. During the morning rush hour of september 26th people were greeted at the station by James Bond, Queen Elizabeth, Sherlock Holmes and a series of other famous figures.

I think this was a brilliant way of grabbing the publics attention and a great form of guerilla advertising. The public were able to take pictures and watch the living statues, making them feel a lot more involved and bringing more excitement to the opening.
